This is really the definition of being black pilled as most use the term today. No solutions provided with the exception of a slight hint at revolution with this line, "see large numbers of individuals negating fully all rule, and demanding the end of State 'authority,'". But, consider if that happens and the outcome... No government, no ruling party, no laws, no country, no borders. Do you think the rest of the world will see it as a model or a place ripe for takeover? In any case, someone will end up in charge so solutions are important, not just complaints. I assume, while Gary thinks there is no hope, he continues to live a comfortable retired life in Montana and pay his taxes and support the system he is against.
He pays taxes because of government FORCE and COERCION. He's right that all government is force and COERCION. He takes it to the illogical extreme, but there is a beautiful thing called Natural Law Do you think the Amish need any government? No, not at all.
I write how puny the "government" is here in Siem Reap. See: https://gulfcoastcommentary.substack.com/p/cambodia-poor-has-an-impressive-and and https://gulfcoastcommentary.substack.com/p/all-rule-and-government-are-evil which talks about the ideal if "natural law." It is an ideal that's worthy of striving toward. That's what ideals are, something like goals! They aren't even achievable because humans are highly fallible and there are real criminals. But in the US Colonies, they didn't need a huge government over-lording them or really any rules, did they? People governed themselves, because,at that time, the population was homogeneous White, N. European, Christian and they had the 10 commandments as a code of honor.
But the US, German and UK governments are going full totalitarian. Police and authorities are grossly abusing citizens now and demand (forcing under threat of jail, prison) that you pay them for that treatment. He has a point--albeit unrealistic to expect FULL Natural Law.
But this I'll tell you, that relatively speaking, the degree of freedom here in Cambodia is very, very much higher here than in the US. And it IS a sight to behold! They are remarkably close to the ideal that Gary speaks of. Come visit. And I'm sure that I'd be similarly impressed by Japan in the same.
Yeah, we need laws and government, but you can easily see the travesty of coercion and force in what we have in The West, where there's a Federal Register that is a million pages that makes ALL of us criminals on a daily basis. It's entirely possible that you're inadvertently committing crimes every day! It's entirely grotesque! Horrendous! The West are now POLICE STATES. So, yeah, I think it's helpful to see and recall the concept and IDEAL of "Natural Law."
Our foreign policy, our militarism and intrusion into other countries has been grotesque for a while now. Obama was drone-assassinating American citizens abroad for God’s sake! The Blood of millions of dead are on the hands of Obama/ Hillary alone:

Anyway, I get your point, don't worry, but it's very obvious that we need a reminder of what is ideal and almost attainable!
