Gary, my understanding that the SMR designs are ALREADY APPROVED by the US government. That's huge, but does everyone in the US have their heads up their respective asses?? Sadly, I'll bet on the answer of "yes."
I’ve often wondered why SMRs (small nuclear reactors) have not been seen as a no-brainer non-polluting option to our energy generation infrastructure. After all, SMRs have been safely deployed for decades on nuclear powered ships and submarines. An SMR could easily be a drop-in replacement for our aging coal and oil powered generation plants.
I have no idea of what's holding them back. There's one project in Idaho is all I know. Italy is interested!! The ones I've seen are ~12' diameter cylinders immersed in a huge pool--up to 6 or 8--- I forget.
What's holding back nuclear is that it works. The Marxists don't want reliable clean affordable power. They want you and me crammed into high rise apartments and public transportation while they ride in private jets and yachts. The purpose of the climate hoax is Marxist sameness. Everyone is poor because its not fair for someone to have more $ than someone else even if he earned it.

We need someone to make a call to arms and let about 200,000 armed men show up at some of the state capitals to call for an end to the Biden Junta and freakshow administration. Who could lead this? 1) they're already approved by the US Govt,
2) they require dramatically less of a "safety" zone,
3) the modules are built in a factory with all the QA/QC and shipped to the site.
4) the decommissioning is easy-peasy: just lift them out of the pool and load 'em on a flatbed or barge for disposal in NV.
