Wow - that apartment is huge! How nice and what a great price! Downtown Siem Reap, the park, everything looks delightful. There do not appear to be many people though... perhaps you went at off hours or when everyone is working?

It's low season for sure. And, a little like Vietnam, things come alive after sunset because it's frigging hot in the day

“things come alive after sunset because it's frigging hot in the day.”

My oldest sister, Sharon Ann, her first husband, lieutenant, Colonel Michael J Beck was stationed in Vietnam in 68, and again, In 69. Growing up, he was my hero. Big time. he told me many stories, And the stories I will never ever forget, was how hot and humid it would get over in Nam.

There was hardly any story he told me that would start out completely different, and had nothing whatsoever to do with the weather. But so many times near the end of the story, he would put the weather front and center as the story ended. 😊 something along the lines like this.

“It never ceased to amaze me anything that we requisitioned, we would get. And no matter what month I filled out requisition orders, it would be hotter than a hush puppy in a microwave!! And more humid than a whorehouse in Honduras!!!

And as much as I absolutely hate the heat & humidity in the city that I was born in, by accident, Pensacola, there is no way, no way I would ever want to go over there. Because Mike used to say no matter how hot and humid it gets in Pensacola???? or any place along the gulf coast, it’s a walk in the park compared to south Vietnam. Cambodia, Etc Etc.

Thanks Gary. I paid $438 for 31 nights. It's down to $313 per month for an additional month. Dynamic pricing! I may travel to coastal Cambodia for a bit, then maybe go to SE Thailand coast of Trat province and Koh Chang. I have a one year retirement visa for Cambodua with unlimited entries. So, I'll come back to small town Suem Reap after a little adventure. Stay tuned!! I'm full of surprises! 🙂

Wonderful pictures Doug! Just added Thailand to my bucket list! And you’re living like a king. What does the BnB cost per night?
