Great pictures Doug! Nha Trang is in what was once South VietNam. There was an Army base and Air Cavalry deployed there. Was this city involved or affected by the fighting during the pre-1975 war?

Gosh, Gary, I don't know. Probably! It might have been a backwater city 40 years ago. It's a tourist mecca now.

I'm in mile-high Da Lat now enjoying the cool evenings and pine forests. I'll do another post on Da Lat. I'm heading back to Nha Trang tomorrow morning May 2nd and I'll hole-up in another condo Airbnb rental with the same owners at the Panorama as last week. For $21 per day, 1/2 block from the beach promenade and my beach hang-out, it's a great deal. The rest of SE is scorching hot (in April), but rain showers are in all the forecasts now going forward --which tempers the heat.

“ Most food options are $2 to $4 per dish.”

(you definitely cannot beat the prices over there. That was one of the things that always stood out to me, when I was in and out of numerous-different, port-of-calls…

How much is the room running you,,,f you don’t mind me asking??? and, are you paying for it by the day??? By-the-month?

May 1Edited

my high rise Airbnb condo was about $21 per day. On Airbnb, you pay in advance. I'm leaving Da Lat tomorrow morning and will get another (and better) unit from the same owners for $21 per day--for 7 more nights, then fly over to Cambodia. I'm biding time here because all of SE Asia is super hot in April. At least I get a great breeze in Nha Trang in the afternoon and it's low 90s in the day and low 80s at night.

I'm looking at the 10 day forecast and I see increased clouds and afternoon showers beginning May 2nd and onwards in most of the big cities that I follow (Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap)--which tempers the heat. KL is rainy now and thru most of the year, like Singapore.

I'm looking at the photo galleries and a pop-up viewer doesn't come up. Hmmmm.
